Does a listing really cost nothing?

Yes. A listing is free, no company can buy a better position, and the order on every list comes from a published formula with no advertising slot anywhere on the site. What we are building on top of that is a paid route for work we pass on, which is a separate thing you would have to agree to; nothing is charged to you for simply being in the index.

Do you send homeowner requests to me?

Not yet. The site now runs a request form, and what a homeowner sends reaches PoolBuilderIndex by email. Nothing has been passed to any company from this site so far, and we will not start sending work to you without agreeing it with you first.

Can I add my own photos, services and service areas?

Not today. Every profile shows public data only. There is no owner login, no dashboard and no way for a business to publish its own copy here. An earlier version of this page described a claimed profile with owner-supplied photos, services and service areas. That was never built, so the description has been removed rather than left standing. What you can do is tell us what is wrong and we correct it, or ask us to take the listing down.

Can I pay to rank higher?

No, and that is the point. Rankings come from one published score out of 100, built on public Google reviews, on sentences read off your own website and on what we hold on file. Nobody can buy a position, which is exactly why homeowners trust the list, and why being on it is worth your time.

My phone number, service area or hours are wrong. What now?

Write to us and we change it. Every profile here was built from public sources as they stood in the August 2026 dataset, and pool companies move, change their winterising cut-off or stop taking liner work without telling Google. Email is the whole process: there is no account to open. If you would rather not be listed at all, say so and the record comes down.

How does this work for pool companies?

Every eligible pool company already has a profile built from public Google data. It costs nothing and there is nothing to buy.

2. Homeowners find you

Category and neighbourhood pages rank you by a published score out of 100, using a formula we publish in full.

3. The homeowner sends a request

Your profile carries a request form rather than a phone number. What comes in reaches PoolBuilderIndex by email. Nothing has been sent on to any company from this site, and we would not start without agreeing it with you first.

Why check what your profile says?

Every profile here shows public data and only public data: what Google Maps held about your business when this dataset was built, plus your own website where you have one. Nothing on it was written by you, so if the phone number is an old one or the address is a unit you left, that is what a homeowner reads before deciding whether to call. Tell us and we fix it, at no charge and with no account to open.
